With each passing year, you increasingly notice the signs of aging. Your once-taut skin may be looser in some areas and creased in others. Sunspots, thinning brows and droopy eyelid skin are only some of the many other challenges that you may face. If you are like most women, you may have a cosmetic routine that has changed minimally over the years. However, your maturing skin has unique needs and challenges now that require attention. These tips can help you to show off your true beauty, minimize the impact of aging going forward and even eliminate some years off of your appearance.

Hydrate Your Skin

As your skin gets older, dehydrated cells are problematic. Dry skin often makes creases and fine lines more visible. By hydrating your skin with a quality moisturizer every day, your cells will plump up. Fine lines will be less noticeable. At Visions for the Art of Hair, we recommend that our clients use Glo Hydrating Gel Cleanser and Glo Conditioning Hydration Cream as part of their daily regimen.

Focus on Your Eyes

The thin, delicate skin around the eyes is problematic for most mature adults. You can use Glo Contour Eye Lift, which is specifically designed to hydrate this area of the face. You will have a smooth surface to apply eye shadow to. Use a lighter or nude tone under your brow arches, and apply a darker color in the crease. Draw this crease out and upward slightly to create the illusion of lift. Many older women have given up on eyeliner, but it can still be used to add beautiful definition to the eyes. Consider using a smudging tool to create a softer effect. Remember to fill in your eyebrows with a pencil if they are becoming thin, such as with Grande Brow Enhancing Serum.

Feather Your Foundation

As your skin becomes increasingly lined, the foundation that you have been used to wearing may no longer be ideal. It may cover over taut skin to conceal blemishes perfectly, but it can sink into fine lines and wrinkles. A better idea is to feather the foundation by applying it with a soft brush.

At Visions for the Art of Hair, our focus is on making each of our clients feel beautiful and confident. We will happily consult with you about your current skincare and makeup regimen. Hair coloring and styling, brow shaping and other services are also available to help with other areas that you are concerned about. Schedule an appointment with Lauren today.
